If you’re aged 16 to 29, you can get $25 tickets for great seats at countless performances throughout the season. You’ll also have access to exclusive deals on dining, shopping and accommodation at local establishments!
How It Works
Step 1: Become a Play On member
- Click here to register. It’s completely free.
- We’ll give you a membership number. You’ll need this to log in.
Step 2: Log in to purchase eligible performances
- Log in as a Play On member and go to My Promotions to buy tickets for eligible performances. Eligible performance dates are posted about two weeks in advance, with new dates added every week.
- Pay online with your credit card. All tickets are $25 each, and seating is best available (excluding A+). Limit of two tickets per person per performance.
- BONUS: you can bring a guest of any age, as long as you (as a member) are their date.
Step 3: Enjoy great theatre! – It’s as easy as that!

Just log in with your membership number, then download and print the e-coupons offered by our participating tourism partners.
Please make hotel and restaurant reservations in advance, letting the establishment know you’re a Play On member, and advise wait staff before ordering.

ABOUT THE PLAY ON PROGRAM
Do I have to be a student to join Play On? No. If you’re between 16 and 29, you can buy Play On tickets.
What if I turn 30 a few months after joining Play On? If you are already registered as a Play On member, just log in and we’ll re-direct you to Play Encore, where you’ll get up to 50% off selected performances all season long.
Where will I be sitting?
Play On seats are assigned as best available for that performance, excluding A+ seats.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. You can buy two tickets for any eligible performance. Your guest can be of any age.
Can I buy more than two tickets to a performance?
No. Each registered Play On member can buy only two tickets to any eligible performance.
Of course, if you like the show you can come back again – to another eligible date.
How far in advance can I book Play On tickets? We’ll post dates approximately two weeks ahead of performance time, and you can book tickets as soon as a date is posted.
Do I need a credit card to buy tickets?
We encourage Play On tickets to be purchased online, so yes you will need a credit card. However, if you do not have a credit card you can purchase ticket in person at our box office window and use your debit card or cash. Remember to bring your ID with you when you purchase tickets in person.
How do I get my tickets? Tickets will not be mailed. You can pick them up at the main Festival Theatre box office until three hours before the performance begins or at a kiosk located in the main lobby of the Festival Theatre.
Do I have to show an ID card? Yes. We’ll ask for photo ID that provides proof of age every time you pick up Play On tickets.
Can I return or exchange my Play On tickets? Sorry, no. All ticket sales are final.
ATTENDING A PERFORMANCE

How long is the performance?
Most performances run between 2.5 and 3 hours, with one 15-20-minute interval. For more exact running times, please check the individual production pages on this website.
Are refreshments available at the theatres?
- There are no sit-down restaurants in any of our theatres. However, drinks and light snacks can be purchased from our bar and concession areas before the performance and during the interval.
- There is no bar service at the Tom Patterson Theatre.
- With the exception of bottled water, food and drink are not allowed in the theatres.
What if I'm late?
- All performances begin promptly, and there are no refunds for latecomers.
- At the Festival and Avon theatres, latecomers may be seated at a suitable break.
- At the Tom Patterson and Studio theatres, it may not be possible to seat latecomers until the intermission. If there is no intermission, it may not be possible to seat latecomers at all.
SPECIAL NEEDS
What if I use a wheelchair?
All our theatres are wheelchair accessible, but we can’t yet sell these seats on our website. If you require wheelchair seating, please call the box office at 1.800.567.1600.
What if I'm visually impaired?
If you are a CNIB member and require complimentary seating for your travel companion, please call the box office at 1.800.567.1600.
What if I am hearing-impaired?
All our theatres are equipped with wireless hearing assistance receivers. Please choose “I would like to book a hearing assistance receiver” when placing your order online. There is a $2 rental fee.
VISITING STRATFORD
What’s the best way to get to Stratford?

I don’t have a car. Can I get to Stratford on public transit?
- There is a train service to Stratford from most major cities in the U.S. border states and the Toronto-Kitchener-Waterloo-London corridor every day of the week. Click here for more information.
- Although it is possible to reach Stratford by bus, you will likely find train travel more convenient. For more information on bus service, please contact Greyhound at www.greyhound.ca or 1.800.661.8747.
- We operate our own non-stop bus service called TO/KW Direct. It departs from Toronto and Kitchener for selected matinee dates in July through September. Click here for more information.
Where can I eat in Stratford? Stratford boasts some truly fabulous restaurants to suit all budgets. Please remember to make a reservation – especially during the busy months of July, August and September. With so many people visiting us, there is rarely an empty seat in a restaurant before a show.
