Kelly McEvenue
31st season: Alexander Technique and movement coach. Elsewhere: Kelly McEvenue is the preeminent Alexander Technique teacher for classical theatre. She is an Associate Artist at Soulpepper, coaching the company and the Academy. She is on the faculties of Humber College and the Canadian Film Centre. She has assisted renowned voice teacher Patsy Rodenburg in international workshops for voice teachers and taught at Guildhall (U.K.). She teaches communication and performance skills to politicians, executives, lawyers and teachers. A movement consultant for Mirvish (The Lion King) and Canadian Stage (The Syringa Tree) and numerous films and television programs, she coached Shawn Ashmore as Terry Fox in Shaftesbury Films’ Terry. She assisted Jeremy Podeswa on script and character development for The Five Senses and Fugitive Pieces. Her masterclasses were seen on CBC’s Triple Sensation. She is the author of The Actor and the Alexander Technique.
