Elsewhere: Darcy recently directed the New York premiere of Stealing Sam in the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row on 42nd Street. It was awarded “Best Drama” out of 130 productions from six continents by the United Solo Festival. It was also awarded “Best of the Toronto Fringe” and “Patron’s Pick” and NOW magazine praised it for Outstanding Direction, Production, Performance and New Play. Darcy directed the Canadian première of I Love You Because for Angelwalk Theatre (two Dora nominations, 14 Broadway World nominations). Recent directing credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (The Grand Theatre, London), Avenue Q (Sudbury Theatre Centre), Twelfth Night (Company C, Victoria, B.C.), I Love You Because (Stage West Calgary) and dramaturge/consultant for the première of the new Canadian play What to Wear to the Birth of a Nation (Watermark Theatre, North Rustico, Prince Edward Island). Darcy was associate director of Little Women on Broadway (starring Sutton Foster) and the U.S. national tour (starring Maureen McGovern).
