History and stage
The Studio Theatre is the Festival’s newest performance space, opened during the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2002. The stage is a modified thrust, with seating on three sides, and the house seats 260 people.
The Studio is an ideal space for exploring new and experimental works as well as rarely produced classics. It is sublimely intimate, and actors refer to it as “the chapel.”
Food and Beverage
Wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages are available from the Studio Theatre bar.
Accessibility
The theatre is wheelchair accessible, and a limited number of designated special-access parking spaces are available nearby. The Studio auditorium is steeply raked; if you require assistance please ask our front-of-house staff. We’re here to help.
Service and Guide dogs are welcome in all our theatres, and we ask patrons with service dogs to sit on an aisle or in our special access seating. House Programs are available in Braille; please feel free to borrow a copy from the House Manager. All theatres are equipped with a wireless hearing assistance system. Please reserve your headsets in advance.
Booster Seats
Complimentary booster seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Please see an usher for assistance.
