Romeo and Juliet: Saturday, July 13; Sunday, July 28; Saturday, August 10
The Merchant of Venice: Sundays, August 18 and 25
Bring the whole family for an active, on-your-feet introduction to the play you’re about to see. No observers, please. Admission: $15.
Who is the workshop for?
All are welcome; please see our minimum age recommendations for the plays (Romeo and Juliet and The Merchant of Venice).
What will I do in the workshop?
You will participate in drama-based activities. These may include reading lines from the play and using your body to illustrate scenes from the play. If your mobility is compromised, we encourage you to participate to the extent of your ability. This workshop is not a talk or a lecture; it is based on active participation.
Do I have to be familiar with the play already?
Not at all! If you don’t know the story of the play, you will learn it at the workshop. If you do know the play already, you’ll have fun exploring it further.
Does the workshop require previous training or experience in acting?
No! You won’t be asked to “act” – just to read and move.
