Members are a group of friends without whom we could not survive:
patrons who make charitable gifts each year that help bring our extraordinary seasons
to life. We invite you to join our membership program and support our efforts
on and off the stage. Your gift will enable us to present exceptional, engaging
playbills, along with a huge variety of events and activities that offer unique
insights into our productions. Without the help of generous patrons like you, this
high-quality programming simply wouldn’t exist.
As a Member, you are now able to choose the area or areas of the theatre you’d
like to support. There are four different categories in all:
Education: Investing in our audiences
Our Education Department organizes and executes countless activities for our visitors.
Its staff are instrumental in coordinating The Forum – our new festival within the
Festival – and in bringing thousands of students to Stratford each year through
such programs as the Ontario Schools Project, the Shakespeare School (our summer
camp) and Shakespeare After School. By donating to this cause, you help to enrich
the experiences of those who attend the Festival today and to instil a love of live
theatre in the young people who will become the loyal patrons of our future.
Costumes: Fine art on our stages
Not everyone realizes that we make virtually all of the costumes that our actors
wear. Building everything from uniforms to ball gowns to robes, hats and shoes,
our Wardrobe Department takes these stunning pieces from concept to finished product
with incredible care and attention to detail. By supporting this cause, you allow
audiences to relish this unmatched artistry, and also enable members of our Wardrobe
staff to pass on their increasingly rare knowledge to the next generation of artisans.
Shakespeare Productions: Celebrating the classics
Audiences come to see all sorts of productions at the Festival, but the works of
William Shakespeare hold a special place in their hearts, as well as in our own.
Staging Shakespeare’s plays has always been our primary objective, and over the
decades we’ve seen many artists weave their magic in the greatest roles of all time.
Supporting this cause ensures that we can continue to bring in the best classical
actors in Canada to breathe life into these timeless plays.
General Support:Making all things possible
Imagine if we were no longer able to offer any one part of the Festival experience
– ifour productions didn’t have costumes, lighting or sets, or if you weren’t ableto
attend talkback sessions with actors or take home mementos of your favouriteperformances.
In the past, donations have helped with these efforts and muchmore, allowing the
Festival to provide experiences available only at Stratford.By choosing this option,
you will be giving a gift that does the same.
