Audio Described Performances

The Stratford Festival provides live audio description service for patrons who are blind or have low vision on select performance dates.  In 2013, eight performances at the Festival Theatre will feature live audio description provided by trained audio describers. Listen to a description of this service here.

Join us at the following shows which are marked on the performance calendar with a Audio Graphic symbol!

Romeo & Juliet
Friday, July 19,2:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 22, 2:00 p.m.

Fiddler on the Roof
Saturday, July 6, 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 7, 2:00 p.m.

The Three Musketeers
Saturday, July 27, 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 13, 8:00 p.m. (also a 2-FOR-1 ticket offer day!)

The Merchant of Venice
Sunday, August 25, 2:00 p.m.
Friday, October 4, 2:00 p.m.

You will need to reserve an Audio Description head set at the time of ordering through our website or Box Office (1-800-567-1600).  In order to offset the cost of maintenance of these devices, and to ensure adequate supplies, we would welcome a donation to our audio description program.   A minimum $2.00 is suggested, thank you.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for a pre-show description of the set and costumes, which begins 15 minutes before the performance.

Other things you may not know about the Festival…

  1. People who carry a valid CNIB or Access2Entertainment card may receive one complimentary theatre ticket to give to a support person.
  2. The Festival offers Braille house programs that can be borrowed from the theatre or downloaded onto your personal Braille Note Taker.
