Stratford Direct

Travelling from Toronto? Try our Stratford Direct bus service for only $20 round trip!

What is the Stratford Direct?
The Stratford Direct is our new bus service for people visiting Stratford from Toronto. Our buses offer many conveniences, including

  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Video monitors
  • On-board restroom
  • Storage for suitcases, bicycles and other larger items
  • Wheelchair accessibility (service must be requested in advance)

How does the Stratford Direct work?
Buses depart from the InterContinental Toronto Centre hotel (at the corner of Front and Simcoe streets) and travel directly to Stratford, with no stops. The driver will gladly drop off and pick up passengers at any of our four theatres.

The service is easy to use – just buy your tickets and jump on board! Please note that you must have a ticket to ride, and you must book at least 48 hours in advance.

Click here for a map of our Toronto pick-up and drop-off location.

When can I take the bus?
The Stratford Direct operates twice daily in peak season and once daily in May and October.

May 27 to September 29 (performance days only)
Toronto departure: 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Stratford departure: 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.

May 1 to 25 and October 1 to 20 (performance days only)
Toronto departure: 10 a.m.
Stratford departure: 5 p.m.

You can choose to visit for one day, or plan a longer trip and take in your fill of theatre and Forum events. Because you book your arrival and departure dates separately, you have all the flexibility you need.

I want to book now!
Seats can be reserved through the Box Office at 1.800.567.1600 or online on our calendar. You can use either service to book your Festival tickets and accommodation, as well.

Coming to Stratford? Look for SFToStratford on the calendar.
Leaving Stratford? Look for SFFromStratford on the calendar.

The fine print
Some rare exceptions to the twice-daily service do apply on occasions when just one performance is running: if there is only a matinée, the afternoon bus will run; if there is only an evening show, the evening bus will run. Details are available through the Box Office and are marked on the performance calendar.

Again, please note that travellers must book tickets at least 48 hours in advance in order to board the bus. To provide our riders with the most convenient service possible, the driver will depart at the scheduled time, waiting a maximum of five minutes for passengers who arrive late.

Questions? Concerns?
Our Box Office staff will be happy to help you. Please call 1.800.567.1600.

Stratford Direct is generously sponsored by The Peter Cundill Foundation.
