Student Players’ Festival

November 16 to 20
Teacher Workshop: August 21, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A non-competitive student Shakespeare festival!

Elementary and secondary teachers are invited to prepare and present ten-minute scenes from any Shakespeare play on the stage of the Studio Theatre. Scenes are adjudicated by an expert panel, and students are treated to workshops led by professional artists.

Teacher Workshop
Teachers participating in the Student Players' Festival are required to attend a workshop on producing Shakespeare with students on August 21.

Artist Visits
A professional actor will visit your classroom three times to help with rehearsals of your scene. These visits are provided free to you by the Stratford Festival, and take place in September, October or November 2015.

Your Day On Stage
The Student Players' Festival will be held for three days in the week of November 16; those dates will be chosen in consultation with participating teachers. Your day includes on-stage rehearsal time, a workshop led by a professional artist and the presentation of scenes before an audience of parents and other participating schools.

Registration fee is $175 per teacher. Each teacher may present one scene. Schools are permitted to send more than one teacher and scene to the Student Players' Festival.
