Lawrence Jameson, a con man on the French Riviera, seems to have it all until the arrival of an unknown rival, "The Jackal." He soon faces off against American con man Freddy Benson and bets on who can swindle a naïve heiress. The loser faces exile, while the winner gains access to the Riviera's elite.
