Stravinsky, best known for his groundbreaking orchestral works, composed L’histoire du Soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) as a small theatre chamber piece. Based on a Russian folk tale, it’s the story of a soldier who trades his violin to the devil for untold riches. Scott Wentworth joins Festival musicians
as narrator of this masterpiece.
