ADAPTATION AND INSPIRATION

Chalmers Lounge, Avon Theatre
Wednesday, August 14
10:45 am
When historian Natalie Zemon Davis won the Holberg Prize for Trickster Travels, her groundbreaking work on “decentering history,” she didn’t imagine it would inspire a play. Join Dr. Zemon Davis in a discussion on the evolution of Birds of a Kind, conceived when playwright Wajdi Mouawad was asked to adapt her book for the stage. Other guests include Linda Gaboriau, creator of the English translation of Birds of a Kind.
