Beyond Hudson's Bay: Women in the Fur Trade

From voyageurs to the Hudson’s Bay Company, the times of the fur trade might feel like well-trodden ground in Canadian history—but there’s always more to the story. Join Frances Koncan, playwright of Women of the Fur Trade and Professor Jill Carter of the University of Toronto, Dr. Adele Perry of the University of Manitoba, and Bob White, former Director of New Play Development at the Festival in an enlightening talk delving into the facts and fiction of this instrumental industry in the colonization of Canada.
