Say it with Flowers: The Floral Imagery of Hamlet

In the shadowy world of Hamlet, flowers speak when words fail. Harry Jongerden, former head gardener and designer of the Festival’s Elizabethan Garden, will explore Shakespeare’s use of floral imagery throughout Hamlet. Discover how seemingly delicate images of flowers become powerful symbols of grief, madness, memory, and mortality and why Shakespeare’s botanical language matters to our understanding of one of his most famous tragedies.

Venue Capacity: 185 seats
