Will Donald Trump trump international law? In his new book, Harold Hongju Koh offers a clear and comprehensive tour d’horizon to explain why Trump, in his first two years, is not "winning" in his effort to resign the U.S. from global leadership, and how the Resistance is blunting his initiatives. Koh’s uplifting account details how those opposing Trump’s policies in his administration’s first two years have successfully triggered “transnational legal process” as part of a collective counter-strategy akin to Muhammad Ali’s famous “rope-a-dope” to preserve the guardrails of America’s commitment to international law and constitutional democracy. Mr. Koh is a former Legal Adviser of the U.S. State Department, nominated to the position by former President Barack Obama, and was also Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights and dean of Yale Law. The talk is followed by a book-signing.
